My Collection: Man of Steel Movie Masters Action Figure Superman

Man of Steel Movie Masters Action Figure Superman

The Man of Steel. I had my eye on this figure for quite sometime. I was a huge fan and really enjoyed the Man of Steel movie. I was highly anticipating the release of this movie and loved the new take on the Man of Steel. I was buying Empire Magazine with the great covers and features for the upcoming movie was massively exciting. Then on the big release day me and my girlfriend to went to see it and it was amazing. It was one of the best movies we had ever seen, and to my delight she suggested going to see it again a week later. Mostly I think, down to the looks and charm of it's leading man, it was good outcome either way.

With the release of this awesome movie saw the release of the Movie Masters Man of Steel adult collectors action figures.

MOVIE MASTERS With authentic detail, deluxe articulation and supreme quality, the Movie Masters line offers fans the premium collecting experience.  True-to-scale, these figures are expertly crafted to ensue the highest standards for your collection.

I saw the releases online and really wanted the Superman action figure. But I restrained myself and did not buy the figure for about 9 months and then I gave in when I discovered The Wave 2 Superman release in this line included the "Krpytonian Command Key" accessory as a neat little extra. A Superman figure usually wouldn't come with accessories but this was a cool bonus with the figure that I was already a huge fan of, I'm glad I waited.

I already owned Mattel's Batman figure from The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters line and was both impressed and pleased with the figure.I held off for a few months but still remained interested in the figure. I got the DVD for Christmas and really wanted something to represent my interest of both movie and comic book interpretations of Superman.

After I made sure that this figure was a re-release of the the Wave 1 figure,  with no changes I decided to add this figure and awesome accessory to my collection. The command key is a die cast metal accessory with a metal chain. I don't wear it but it is suitable for that purpose if you wish. Great replica prop from an innovative and creative aspect of the film. This accessory sealed the deal for me getting this edition of the figure. The wave 2 Superman release also came with the figure stand that came with the previous first Superman figure release. Each of the figures in this line all came with a figure stand with the insignia of the house they belong to.

I love everything about the film's definition of both the new symbol and the iconic costume.
I admire how the cape is open as if its flowing in the wind and both paying homage to when we first see Superman in his new costume for the first time in the movie. This new suit takes of inspiration of how Superman has been appearing since the New 52 since 2011 primarily the fact that Superman no longer wears the red trunks, which I'm okay with.
Really happy that I was able to pair it with a another figure. This looks great beside my movie Batman, giving us an visual conception of how Worlds Finest appear next to one another in their movie inspired action figures.

See you in 2016
Movies has always been my big interest of mine. then becoming a fan of comic book movies and then my interest in comics graphic novels and the collectibles associated with them. Both my Batman and Superman Movie Master figures, these two figures represent the intersection of both of my main interests.

Bye for now

My Collection:DC Comics Batman "The Killing Joke" Joker ArtFX Statue

One of the best things that I own. Based on the iconic cover image of one of comics best stories. This classic Batman story comes to life in BATMAN THE KILLING JOKE THE JOKER! A 1988 graphic novel by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, The Killing Joke is a story about Joker and how he came to be the Clown Prince of Crime.

Other than an interesting origin story for him, the book also features one of the most famous scenes in the history of comics: Joker shooting Barbara Gordon, which would in turn lead to her becoming the hero Oracle. Almost as famous as its contents is Joke's iconic cover image, captured for the first time as an ARTFX Statue! Featuring a portrait inspired by the graphic novel cover art coupled with an original pose by Kotobukiya, this new statue brings the maniacal clown to life as you've never seen him before .

The Joker's elongated white painted face leaps right off of the graphic novel cover with its deep laugh lines, left eye squeezed shut, and unruly green hair peeking out from under his hat.

This statue is awesome, I got this Christmas 2013, another wonderful Joker gift for Christmas. This is brilliant, large statue figure of the Joker, straight form the cover of one of me and my girlfriend’s favorite graphic novels. The Killing Joke was the fourth Batman book I bought. I am so so happy with this statue, I have never taken so many pictures of one object before. This is one of the coolest statues I have ever seen. and Thanks to my girlfriend I got it and it has become the biggest highlights of my collection. This statue is directly from the cover of the one of the most prolific Batman and Joker stories. It is a classic and held in very high regard. It is also the definitive Joker story. This statue came in a really nicely designed box. And I couldn't wait to take this statue out for display. It’s fantastic. the face sculpt is amazingly detailed.

Leaping of the cover of one of the most famous Batman graphic novels of all time. This awesome piece, eye catching. This is more than just a statue, this statue has a motion sensor and flashes with sound.as it the Joker is taking your picture.
SMILE !
For me, the only off-putting aspect with this statue was the cherub henchmen that was positioned underneath and looking up at the Joker’s crotch. I found this figure to be distracting and takes away from the Joker and this amazing statue. But thankfully this character is optional and I chose not to display it. There is a small bit of a assembling the required. simply placing the crate and the Joker onto the base. And then positioning the camera into the joker hands to hold. Thankfully you can get a close look at the Joker's face before it is hidden by his camera. The motion sensor feature works cool and can be turned of or on by a switch on back of the base. The lamp and the dynamite stick can be positioned where desired. This image is iconic and from one of the best loved Joker and Batman stories ever told. This Kotobukiya display piece is excellent, they are defiantly one of the best and most creative manufactures of collectors display pieces.

This is easily the best statue that I could ever own. I usually just go for figures. My other two statues were accompanied with the Batman Video games. This statue is specialist and superior quality piece. This is amazing statue. The greatest Joker collectors item anyone could ever own. it is an Outstanding and iconic piece.

Keep smiling

My Collection: DC Comics Super Villains: The Joker Action Figure

The DC COMICS - THE NEW 52 look of Batman's arch nemesis, The Joker is perfectly captured in this action figure based on the designs from the "Death of the Family" story.

DC Collectibles produce all kinds of collectibles including statues, props, replicas and action figures directly resembling comic book characters style of appearance from the comics, video game or animated movie that they are based on. The DC Collectibles products are for the direct market, primarily serving comic book stores.

DC Universe Classics is my preferred line of collector action figures. They've got great articulation, and usually bright and glossy depictions of the characters, they just look fun. I was aware of the DC Collectibles line, it featured figures directly influence from various sources of comic story lines resembling the artists interpretation of characters, in different forms of media. I always preferred the DC Universe Classics iterations of New 52 Superman and Batman to that of their DC Collectibles counterparts. They just looked too stern and not as fun. I never intended to own anything from this line, that was until – The Joker.

The book was brilliant and the figure was due for release around the same time as the graphic novel in October 2013. I kept an eye online deciding whether I should get this figure, I had seen images and just assumed it was a Mattel Collectors Action Figure. For a while I was undecided. That was until I seen the figure in a comic book store and a month later, That Christmas my girlfriend surprised me with this amazing figure. The figure came in a window box with lime green accents and the Joker’s sinister smile on one side.

Akin to my other Joker figure, this too came with a few accessories, tools that which can be stored in his tool belt or held in his hands. The oversized gloves are nice touch too. The detailed head sculpt is both incredibly detailed and disgusting. The rotting flesh and colour of the facial features are the most eye-catching part of this action figure. The rotten flesh of the face is of a dirty grey. The arms show this great contrast of the how bright as white the jokers skin used to be opposed to his skin mask. The face brilliantly sculpted showing the two layers to the face, the flesh mask and the eyes underneath. Joker is still remains the only villain figures I have in my collection. This DC Collectibles Joker is a great addition, this highly detailed figure directly form the pages of the latest New 52 Batman graphic novel. The Jokers reappearance after a year long absence was one of Batman’s greatest challenges perpetrated by his greatest foe makes this Joker, one of Action figure fans most coveted collectors item. It is directly inspired by possibly the New 52 largest and most popular storyline so far.

DC Universe Classics is still my preferred line for my small action figure collection. This Joker figure is just a stand out from the DC Collectibles line and enough for merit a unique addition to my collection. This proudly sits on my shelf as the one DC Collectible figure I own as a direct reminder of one of the best, and best Batman New 52 story arcs so far. This is an amazing figure and it's so good, I have added this to my collection from an action figure line I do not even collect from. More than likely the stand out piece of DC Collectibles and perhaps the only figure from that I line that I will ever own.

I love my retro appearance Joker figure, but this one is incredibly detailed and new. I loved the Death of The Family story arc that featured in Scott Snyder's Batman comics. Easy to say it's the creepiest and only disgusting figure I own.

Keep on smiling

My Collection: Batman Arkham Origins Collectors Edition Statue

The Batman Arkham games are excellent. They give players and fans another impressive Batman story, that and along with the closet opportunity most of us will ever to be of being Batman. I’m a fan of these games and the collector’s editions always contain an excellent amount of extras and Batman Arkham Origins Collectors Edition set featured some of the best so far.

I got this from my kid brothers Christmas 2012, the collectors set came in a larger that expected box. My brothers were beaming with excitement on presenting this to me. This set came with a lot of extras including a steel case of the game, three sets of downloadable content, large hardcover art book and Intel dossiers of the eight assassins featured in the game, as well as a copy of their contract. But easily the greatest part of this Collectors Edition is this remarkable statue. It stands at around 30cm tall, with the Batman Arkham Origins logo on the brick wall of the building while depicting the continuing confrontation of two of comic’s greatest rivalries between Batman and The Joker.

The US edition came with a different statue, But if I had the choice I would still chose this one. I love the portrayal in this piece, the in action depiction, the Joker's devilish expression that belies the situation he is in and the overall iconic moment between Batman and The Joker.

I really enjoyed the game and I particularly partial to origin stories. This is not the Origin of Batman, but the origin of all that he has come to be. Taking place before the rise of Gotham’s most dangerous criminals, that storyline showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early crime fighting career that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. The storyline in this game was immense. The comic book joker origin has always been always been mystery, even to himself.. There had been many ties in history to between the Joker and infamous masked criminal named the Red Hood. These elements feature in this story, so it was interesting to see the games take on the Joker’s origin.

A story of firsts; before Robin, before the Batmobile and before a time when Batman could consider Jim Gordon as his ally. This story depicted the first meeting of Batman with the Joker and depicts why the Clown Prince of Crime developed his obsession with the Dark Knight .of all the firsts in the story of Batman Arkham Origins, the meeting of the Joker and Batman is the most anticipated moment of them all. Their first meeting has such a legendary depth. It is an extremely significant encounter as we all know the dynamic between these two comic legends. The Joker is always considered the yin to Batman’s yang. This display piece is befitting in symbolising the facing off of comics and popular cultures greatest adversaries.

Bye for now

My Collection: DC Universe Classics World's Greatest Superheros Classic Detective Batman

Another Batman figure? Batman is one of characters that has updated his look more consistently over the years. The costumes colour scheme was always a variation consisting of blue, black and shades of grey along with changes to the symbol on his chest. Mattel’s DC Universe Classics action figures mirrored those new looks with different repaints of this action figure.

This figure is a re-release of the first 2008 Batman from Wave 1 of Mattel’s DC Universe Classics. This Classic Detective Batman was re-released in the in The World’s Greatest Superheroes wave that consisted of previously released action figures.

This is how I first remember Batman, this appearance that’s specified as  “The Silver Age” of DC Comics. This figure was inspired from toy company Kenner’s Super Powers action figure toy line and later Batman’s first animated appearance in The Super-Friends animated cartoon series. I never had a Batman figure when I was a kid, although I did have The Joker from the 1989 Batman movie which squirted water from his flower on his jacket. I also had Two-Face from Batman The Animated Series. If I did get the chance to get a Batman figure this is the style he would have been inspired by.

This Batman figure is an excellent representation of Neil Adams’ and classic artists’ rendition of the shadow cowled Batman. This figure is being dubbed by many as the best Batman figure to-date. some say it makes his neck are look larger than it should be but this is probably a mirroring in the way the cape flows in a v-form all the way to his back in early comics, giving the figure one more element of being classic.

I love this retro appearance of this Batman figure the colour scheme, yellow logo and great attention to details with the shadow on forehead and blue eyebrows I even recently bought a t-shirt with this representation of batman on it ,I found it one day on eBay, it was on a bid from a seller based in Dublin. I placed the only one bid and won the figure at a bargain price. I added it to my collection. Just as the modern Batman figure goes great with the modern Superman figure, This Batman matches up distinctly with the All Star Joker counterpart as they both share that retro appearance. The style of figures together are just fun, action figure collecting can be a series business but I love the fun retro appeal of these two figures together. The fun continued with the inclusion of accessories, a figure stand, grapple gun and the ever important Batarang.

I was very happy to add this retro feel batman to my collection, and as an added novelty I have got both the first and last Batman action Figures before it was cancelled and re-branded as DC Comics Unlimited and Batman Unlimited.

I love this nostalgic take on this Batman collectors action figure and was very happy when I added this to my collection.

More later

Bye for now.

My Collection: DC Universe Classics All Stars Superman

About a year before the DC Comics New 52 relaunch in 2011 when I started getting into comics and this new look Superman is a symbol of that. New suit new interest of comics greatest character. With a new look for a new time, this figure based on Jim Lee’s designs for the New 52!The Man of Steel, the first and greatest of them all comic book heroes. I always liked Superman, and to me at that age he wasn't as cool or as appealing to as Batman. Even today Batman still has major appeal to kids. Some toddlers and younger children know who Batman is and have toys of clothing of the character. My cousin’s 1 year old has a fondness of Batman that is unprecedented. Superman, I feel is a character who you can appreciate as you grow up and get older. He is much more than his powers. He is the blueprint of the modern superhero. He is inspiring and always does the right thing when faced with hard choices. His humble parents instilled in him strong moral values and inspired him to become the hero he is today. Superman is a hero that reflects the potential in all of us for greatness.

After I got the DC Universe Classics All Stars Batman figure I was interested and in the accompanying Superman figure from the wave also. I just loved the new design and representation of Superman since the new 52 reboot. I made the purchase on eBay. I really enjoyed The New 52 Justice League graphic novel and I started to collect new volumes as they were released.

The figure looks great and is consists of the same level of detail featured in the Batman figure, although the changes to his new costume are more apparent than his batman counterpart, Batman lost the underwear appearance a few years back while New 52 Superman has a few details that haven't been part of the look before. The new emblem is sculpted onto the chest, raised collar, no red trunks and his new emblem printed on back of the cape too was a nice touch. I was never really a fan of the previous Mattel DC Universe Classics releases of Superman but I did really like this new modern and updated look of the worlds first and greatest Superhero.I’m a big Superman fan, He is an inspirational character. The new DC Universe Classics All Stars line allowed collectors to add the most popular heroes to their collection, as the previous releases of DC’s best loved heroes had been released years ago.

Superman stands as the single most iconic figure in comic books; his Kryptonian S-Shield recognizable as a universal symbol for truth and justice. Though Superman may have begun as a slice of Americana, he’s grown into a symbol that all of humanity can look up to.

Since I started collecting action figures, I always wanted a representation of the two pillars of the DC Universe, the two greatest superheroes and the two modern New 52 renditions of Worlds Finest look outstanding on my shelf together.

Up, up and away

My Collection: The Dark Knight Rises Collectors Blu-ray Limited Edition Bat Cowl

The Dark Knight Rises Collectors Blu-ray Limited Edition Bat Cowl.

I’m a big fan of The Christopher Nolan Batman movies and I was very excited for the third and final film in this trilogy, it was the first batman movie that was released since I started getting into Batman graphic novels.
What better way to end to end of this great trilogy with a Limited Edition statue. The Dark Knight Rises was my favorite movie of 2012 and that Christmas my generous Brother got this to me as a gift.

I first saw it at my local Xtra-vision close to Christmas and I was so tempted to get it there and then. I felt that I had to have it and its just something so different. Movie collectors statues and display pieces were something I was quite unaware of until then. It was a real surprise to receive this
amazing set from my brother that Christmas morning.

This awesome display piece houses the two Blu-ray disks in the back. I loved the promotional material that this statue is based on.Its a extremely well detailed piece and I love how it looks dirty. It is identical  to the poster image its based on. This was a great aspect to of the creators to make into a statue. Never again will you get a broken Bat Cowl.
I love this statue and the fact that it is Limited Edition adds to the appreciation of this piece.

Short and sweet this time and there is more to come

My Collection: The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Action Figure Batman

I’m a big fan of The Christopher Nolan Batman movies and I was very excited for the third and final film in this trilogy, it was the first batman movie that was released since I started getting into Batman graphic novels. The Movie Masters accommodate both film and Comic book action figure collectors.
MOVIE MASTERS With authentic detail, deluxe articulation and supreme quality, the Movie Masters line offers fans the premium collecting experience. True-to-scale, these figures are expertly crafted to ensue the highest standards for your collection.

After Mattel’s The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Build A Batsignal caught my attention I was interested in this figure for my collection. I ordered it online from the States and received in time for Christmas. This was my second Batman collectors’ action figure. Although I already had a Batman this one was a great figure that I couldn't pass up. This Batman action figure is just an outstanding collector’s item and it goes along with my Movie Masters Batsignal.

It is an extremely solid and eye-catching figure that does full justice to its source material. He is shorter than and not as buff as other Batman figures as The Movie Masters Line is a representation of the characters in realistic proportions. The figure is made my Mattel and is extremely similar to the DC Universe Classics which are my preferred line of collector’s figures.

From the body armor to the spiked gauntlets to the bat chest symbol, the whole suit is there in impressive detail. This is the most detailed Batman figure I own and it is based on a physical representation of the Caped Crusader. This Batman figure is not only highly detailed, but also so subtle. What looks like a solid black figure is much more intricate, the very nature of the Dark Knight suit works to hide the various joints and create a more natural look. The detailing and the amour hide the joints of the figure and consist of different shades of black, gray and glossy paint applications.

This is the second release of this figure and is almost identical  to the Dark Knight Movie Masters Batman figure. This version has some minor paint differences and more practical accessory piece. The previous waves accessory were various evidence bags and this that Batman release included an over sized Batman cowl. This 2012 release is better as it included a base piece to build the awesome Batsignal.

This is an awesome collectors figure and one that will kept me interested in Mattel’s future Movie Masters releases. It is just great to have collectors merchandise based on an excellent and one of my favorite movie franchises.

Later Bat-fans

My Collection: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics Leonardo

TMNT Classics Leonardo

More nostalgia now with the classic Leonardo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection from Playmates Toys.

About the Turtles: Catapulted from indie comic book origins to super stardom in the original Murakami-Wolf-Sweson series (MWS) animated series. TMNT ran on air for nearly a decade (1987-1996) and ranked #1 in the ratings for an unprecendated 5 years straight! Featured in over 190 episodes. The fun loving, shell kicking teens are still recognized around the world and fondly remembered by fans with every bite of pizza.

The figures are directly inspired by the Original 1988 animated series and are a of great collector quality. Each of the Turtles figures features more than 34 points of articulation making them on of the most poseable collectors figures out there. Leonardo stands at 6" inches tall and features his signature twin Katana swords and a personalized manhole cover base.

The Thundercats was my first big animated series I was a huge fan of and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the next. I think I had more toys from this show that any other toys that I was a fan of. The role play weapons, the vehicles the large variety of figures and the crazy variations available, Astronaut Raphael anyone? I had lots of figures including the original vintage ones and the figures that transformed from regular turtles and to the TMNT.

I never really had a favorite  character, I loved them all but mostly Leonardo because he was the leader. I had a few of  Michelangelo, he was the fun one and his shade of green was one of my favorite colours at that age, and because he ""was a party dude" I loved to place him on the table and spin him on his back like a spinning top.
I even had the huge blimp which I really loved. My auntie had made me and my brother a custom costume complete with eye mask, elbow and knees pads and turtle shell, and my costume was based on Leonardo.

I loved the show for years and the great toys that inspired form it. The show and toys have come back twice since then, my brother were young and really enjoyed the 2003 animated series and it was like my Christmas all over again, with the toys figures, weapons and animated series back on our screens and later with the current 2012 animated series that we also enjoy but to slightly lesser affect. With the arrival of this series came the release of the Classic Collection action figures from the original animated series. I found both new and classic toys at my local Smyths and was so impressed with their return.  I was just really happy something like this exists and that Christmas my girlfriend had really surprised me with one, Leonardo the leader. It was a great Christmas and I joke with her that was my classic Christmas because of the iPod Classic and Mezco Thundercats Classic Mumm-ra she also got me that year. These

And like Christmas the previous year with the release of both modern and classic Thundercats while my kid brothers got modern versions of the toys the big kid got classic version of the characters from much loved animated shows.

So that is another post about another item from my collection and sadly my last action figure from a retro animated series. This show meant a lot to me and I was both a huge fan of the show and of the toys. This figure is a representation of that. There was a lot of great shows that I was a fan of when I was growing up, too many to remember, but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one I would never forget.

T-U-R-T-L-E POWER !

My Collection: The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Build A Batsignal

The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Batsignal

This is one of the coolest and most sought after collector items I own. I managed to win the Batsignal one night on eBay. The Movie Masters toy line was a adult collectors line of action figures from Mattel based on popular movie franchises. In the Dark Knight  Rises Movie Masters line consisted of seven figures and each of these movie characters featured a piece to collect and build the Batsignal.

This was such a cool find, which I found on eBay when I was just looking through other Batman figures. I found this and added it to my Watch List after and later placed a bid on it after I looked up a video review of it. I was slightly obsessed and paid close attention to it for the remainder of the time left. I almost missed it setting a reminder for 4 pm only for being so interested I later saw the auction was ending 4 am. All the better so I could hopefully be the winner of it sooner. I got up early enough to bid and watch the end of the auction. Placing my two bids as the timer counted down and was so excited when I won the item. It wasn't that expensive considering it would have took seven collector action figures to build the full Batsignal.

I was so excited and couldn't wait to receive the Batsignal. The item was dispatched from the States. I got home from work day and found the package, and assuming it was something else I ordered the same time from Dublin. The Batsignal package had arrived before it in only four days from America to Ireland. It continued to amaze  when I opened it up and got to build it for myself. It was awesome, not only did it light up but it projected the Bat symbol. My brothers were really jealous and my girlfriend was so impressed with this amazing collectors item.

I had learned online of how collectors were trying hard to find and locate each figure in order to build the complete Batsignal. and I was so pleased I had it as my own. I was very lucky. I had one Batman figure at the time and I displayed both together. The was the essential six pieces and the rare exclusive seventh piece of the broken Batsignal to recreate one of the end scenes at the end of The Dark Knight. This piece was included with Commissioner Gordan action figure and his figure even included an axe.

I love this collectors item and it is one of my most treasured pieces of my collection. I was so happy to receive this and have a representation of one of the best and my favorite movie franchise.
I 'm a huge fan of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies.

This Dark Knight Movie Masters Batsignal is awesome. This is one of my favorite displays in my collection. Not everyone can say they have this item which makes it all the more significant and special to me because I do.

I couldn't praise this collectors item enough and the photos don't do it justice. Its a special, one of a kind collectors item and I'm so fortunate to have it.

See ya's later

My Collection: Batman Arkham City Collectors Edition Statue

Batman Arkham City Collectors Edition Statue

I don't play many video games but I am a big fan of the Batman Arkham video games. Not because it's Batman, (well maybe) but there just really great games with a great story. The games felt like a continuation of the great animated series, more grown up and darker themes and featured some of the cast of the brilliant animated series and the story was written by veteran comic book writer Paul Dini who was also heavily involved in the animated series.

I've got all three of the games and I got this statue Christmas 2011. The collectors edition included an Collectible art book, Batman Arkham City: The album download, The Dark Knight Returns Batman skin, Penguin Challenge Map and Batman; Gotham Knight animated movie on Blu-ray. But the main draw for me was this great statue by Kotobukiya. This black and white statue is well detailed and looks great. The monotone colour scheme was a nice touch and makes the statue to mirror the promotional artwork for the game. The statues detail is great, the flowing cape and the detailing on the suit you can imagine what kind of fabric and material the various parts of Batman's costume is made from. I love the positioning of the figure, it's not centered on the base with his hand coming over the edge and in just position like he's about to glide down and pounce on some bad guy at any moment.

This was the first Batman piece of Collectors item that  I owned. It was proudly displayed next to my Marvel Select Daredevil figure on my shelf, exhibiting my interest in two of my favorite comic book characters.

More to come,

Enjoy

My Collection: Bandai Thundercats Classics & Mezco Mega Scale Mumm-Ra

ThunderCats was a highly lauded animated series that aired from 1985-1990 for a total of four seasons with 130 original episodes. It is considered to be one of the best animated shows from the 80’s. Collectors have driven the ThunderCats to become a pop-culture phenomenon over the years

The Thundercats was my absolute favorite TV show when I was a young child. I loved is so much and watched it any chance I could. I was so fortunate and lucky to have so many of the toys. I had the Sword of Omens, countless figures and the Thundertank. I loved this show so much and it meant alot to me and have so many found memories of that time. Thundercats defined what toys were for me, I remember been to my cousins one Christmas, four boys all older than me, and they were playing with Star Wars toys and figures, they were tiny, had no action feature and forgive me, creepy ugly (sorry Ewoks). I did Star Wars as I grew older and come to appreciate why the figures were so small. But all it did for me at the time was define these toys of my childhood and to my astonishment they made a return in 2011.

Bandai Thundercats Classics

Lion-O
The arrival of a new series on Cartoon Network meant that the Thundercats were back. I loved the new show, it had depth and was something for fans both young and old. I had introduced my brothers to the Thundercats years previously when the original 80's series got a DVD release which we really enjoyed. The new was a return to Saturday morning Thundercats for us all. WIth the arrival of the new show and new toys there was also a massive treat for older fans. Bandai had announced the realse of a line of Thundercats Classics for Collectors.

Me and my lovely Girlfriend had spotted these at our local Smyths Toy Store after months of her listening about me going on about them. I shed a single tiny tear when we found them all displayed, it was as if the best thing of my childhood had come back to me on their release in December 2011.

Tygra

These 8 inch Classic Collectors figures are a great throwback for older fans. The first two in the line up Lion-O and Tygra, my two favorite characters of the show. My wonderful Girlfriend had got them for me for Christmas. These figures were great and a real stand out in my collection. Both these figures were extremely accurate with a great sculpts and accessories too. each one came with exchangeable hands and a large and small version of their weapons. Lion-o's claw shield was very well done, it could be holstered on his waist, or a a glove and best of all in either position the small dagger form of his sword could be stored within it.

Although the line was re-branded in a smaller 6 inch figure later before it was cancelled I was so happy to have a physical representation of the toys and TV show that meant so much to me in my childhood.

Mezco Mega Scale Mumma Ra

I love this awesome Mumma Ra 15 inch action figure. My girlfriend had got me this amazing Christmas gift the year after my other Thundercats action figures. Its amazing. I had not opened and displayed the figure for 13 months. It just looked brilliant displayed in its box with its stunning classic artwork.

I eventually opened it and the it got even more amazing. there was minor assembly required and the attaching of his fabric cloak and displaying of real bandages to displayed as desired. I love having a villain figure that over sizes the heroes and this figure certainly does that. Mezco do have other mega scale Thundercats but none of which look as good and authentic at this Mumma Ra. This figure is defiantly the best physical representation of the character.

That's my Thundercats collection , hope it made you feel as nostalgic as it did for me.

Bye for now

Thundercats Hoooooo !

My Collection: DC Universe Classics All Star The Joker

The Joker was always a favorite of mine. You can't love Batman without loving the Joker too. He is one of the best and most well know villains existing in comics.

I never knew this figure existed and simply stumbled across it one Sunday night and I decided to go on eBay to pass the time and I had found this figure at a reasonable price. There was about 20 minutes to go on a auction and there was only a single bid in front of me. I waited patiently watching and had never bid on anything on eBay before. I anxiously waited for the timer count down and I had WON the auction and the figure was mine. There is always a level of excitement when you win an auction.

This iconic representation of the Clown Price of Crime was best. Inspired by Kenner's action figure toy line of the 80's and features the same design and mallet accessory of this vintage counterpart. The figure arrived and it was just brilliant. Unlike my previous DC Universe purchase: All Stars Batman which had no accessories. This figure had several; Large Mallet, Playing Cards, Figure Stand, Cane and the finishing touch a Joker Fish form both one of my favorite Joker stories and Batman The Animated Series Episodes - The Laughing Fish.

This colourful character was a great addition to my collection and paired well with my Batman figure.I won this in September 2012 and The Joker is still the only villain in collection of comic book characters and I love the retro colour scheme of this figure. The Joker is one of the best villains in the DC Universe. The Clown Prince of Crime is Batman’s deadliest and most unpredictable foe.

Enjoy

My Collection: DC Universe Classics All Stars Batman

Batman ! I always wanted a Batman figure. On those trips with my girlfriend to Dublin we had went to Forbidden Planet and there was never a Batman collectors action figure available. He would have sold out the fastest of in whatever action figure line he was available in.

Rebooted and redesigned for a new generation! This figure is one of the first from Mattel based on Jim Lee’s designs for the New 52. The Mattel DC Universe Classics line was a line I liked. Other lines like DC Direct and others all had figures that just did not look as fun as these action figures whilst still being detailed and overall great action figures of characters from the DC Universe.

Although I always would have liked and adult collectors Batman action figure, I was never sure what one I would have wanted. Then at my local Comic Book shop in Letterkenny I found it :)I had been watching Pixel Dan's action figure reviews on Youtube and this always seemed like the best action figure available.

I bought the figure and was really pleased with it. I had made the move from casual Batman and comic book fan around the time of the launch of the New 52 and this figure is based on Batman's appearance since the relaunch.

This figure was later re-released under the one of the new re-brands Batman Unlimited and the figure had a glossy new paint application, But I still prefer and recommend the first one.I love this figure and it was the first of a few Adult Collectors Batman action figures that I have purchased. The first Batman figure I ever owned, a fantastic modern representation of Gotham’s number one crime fighter and the beginning of my DC Universe collection.
